My travel journey started in the North of South America, Colombia. Not knowing how long we would stay away, we had the full freedom. The only thing getting us home was an empty wallet, so we decided to spent as little as possible to travel as far as we could. Eventually, we backpacked for 9 months in South America on a real slow pace. We spent a lot of time in each country visited and traveled only by bus (if possible). We did everything by bus. It’s cheap, the bus network is exceptionally well organised and it’s good for the environment. You can take night busses as well. Be prepared, they do drive like crazy and it can be loooong busrides.
